About the prepaid card
Where can I acquire the international prepaid card?

You can get one through our online store or phone app. If you prefer, you can get one in any of the 100 confidence stores in Brazil or you can call the operation customer service.

What is the necessary information to acquire and recharge a prepaid international card online?

For up to USD 3,000 American dollars it will be necessary to have your full name, CPF, phone number and email.

For operations between USD 3,000 and USD 10,000 additional documentation may be solicited.

Can the prepaid international card be transferred to someone else?

No. Your card is for personal use and it is non-transferable. To avoid risks of fraud, do not reveal your personal information to anyone.

How can I activate my international prepaid card that I received through delivery?

To activate your card received through delivery, log on to our online store in the my cards section, find the received card and click the activate option.

Can I acquire or recharge the prepaid international card in the Visa and MasterCard banners?

To acquire: we have a card with MasterCard banner – MultiCurrency Cash Passport.

To recharge: you can continue to recharge your card in the Visa and MasterCard banners until the expiration date printed on your credit card. The system will identify the numbers of the cards linked to your CPF and it it will bring the list of cards available so that you can recharge it.

What are the advantages of the prepaid international card as opposed to the credit card?

You aren’t exposed to the risk of currency rate fluctuations and you know exactly how much you will spend, besides the ease of doing your shopping on a debit card and withdrawing from any international ATM.

 

How does the prepaid international card work?

The prepaid international card works for withdraws and shopping abroad. It is accepted in over 200 companies, over 1 million ATMs and in more than 32 million establishments for international purchases. For the MasterCard card: it can be used as a credit card abroad and as a credit card in Brazil in any place affiliated with MasterCard or as a withdrawal card in ATMs that are also identified with the CIRRUS banner.

For the Visa card: it can be used as a credit card abroad and as a debit card in Brazil in any place affiliated with Visa or as a withdrawal card in ATMs also identified with the PLUS banner.

Which currencies are available for the prepaid international card?

For MasterCard – MultiCurrency Cash Passport: USD – American dollar/EUR – Euro / CAD – Canadian dollar/AUD- Australian dollar/ GDP – British pound/NZD – New Zealand dollar; for MasterCard – Single Cash Passport: USD – American dollar/EUR – Euro/ GBP – British pound;

For Visa: USD – American dollar/EUR – euro/CAD – Canadian dollar/AUD – Australian dollar/GBP – British pound.

What is the minimum age for acquiring the card?

The minimum age for acquiring the card is 14, as long as the authorization form for recharge is filled out and signed by the guardian. The underage person should sign on the back of the card. The signature should be the same as the passport’s.

Reminder: parents or legal guardian are responsible for any card balance.

Is the international prepaid card safe?

Yes! Your card follows every security rule established by the MasterCard and Visa banners. It’s as safe as any other type of card. Many clients forget that if you take only cash currency you can lose everything in the case of theft.

In the case of the international prepaid card, the moment that you communicate the theft or loss, your balance is blocked and a new card is sent to you in up to seven business days. All credit, debit and prepaid cards are subject to fraud attempts. Therefore, it is essential that you take very good care of your card and that you do not reveal your password and personal information to anyone.

I chose the option “pick up at store”. How do I know when the cash currency will be available for pick up?

After the payment of the operation, you receive an email that will tell you the availability of the currency for pick up. If you don’t receive this email, wait until the second business day after payment to pick up at the chosen store, or contact our customer service channels.

Can I change the pick up store or pick up the currency in any confidence store?

If there is an unforeseen problem and pick up at the chosen store is not possible, contact one of our customer service channels to check if it is possible to change the store.

Can someone else pick up the currency in my place?

No. Because of security reasons, only the purchaser can pick up the amounts, after identification with a document that has a picture.

In which cases is an intermediary bank necessary?

An intermediary bank is necessary when it is not possible to send a remittance directly to the bank of the receiver. Check if it is necessary with the receiver. There are international banks that don’t accept remittances in US dollars or convertible currencies, in this case, we send the remittance to the provided intermediary bank, which converts the amounts to the currency of the client’s account.

What are non-convertible currencies?

Chilean peso, Argentine peso, Mexican peso and the Australian dollar.

What information do I need to have to do remittances in non-convertible currencies?

Chilean peso: you need the RUT – code used by the Chilean Tax System to identify individuals and companies subject to taxing;

Argentine peso: you need the CUIT: code used by the Argentine tax system to identify individuals and companies subject to taxing, and the CBU – code used by banks in Argentina to identify clients’ accounts;

Mexican peso: you need the CLABE -code used as the banking standard for numbering Mexican accounts;

Australian dollar: you need the BSB, which is a code utilized by the Australian bank to identify clients’ accounts.

Are there any fees to do a remittance?

Yes.

For remittances done through the confidence exchange app and the online store, there is an administrative fee in the amount of R$ 64.99.

Is there any fees charged by the foreign bank?

In some cases, yes. There can be a fee in the receiving of the remittance, according to the policy of the foreign bank. In these cases, because they are amounts charged by others, Confidence Currency Exchange does not take responsibility for the additional charging.

The remittance operation must be done separately from any other operation. For purchase or recharge of the card, or purchase of cash currency, it is necessary to do a new purchase.

How do I know that the amount has arrived at its destination?

After the payment of the operation, an email will be sent to you telling you that the remittance was concluded. If you don’t receive this email in up to two business days, contact one of our customer service channels.
